Cyber security attacks continue to make headlines as unscrupulous parties attack and obtain sensitive personal and technical data and resources. Companies like GP:50 that work with Aerospace & Defense contracts are high on the list of targets for such devious attacks. To combat these threats, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) provided NIST Special Publication 800-171. This standard details cyber security requirements for protecting the confidentiality of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) as well as IT assets for companies operating within the USA. Being compliant to this standard is required by many Aerospace and Defense customers.
