Job Position: Deburrer/ Manual Machinist
Position Summary
The Deburrer/ Manual Machinist will primarily focus on deburring and cleaning precision-machined parts to ensure high-quality standards. The role also includes operating manual machines (such as mills and lathes) to support production when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties – Deburring (Approx. 70–80%):
- Deburr, polish, and finish machined parts using hand tools (files, scrapers, rotary tools, etc.)
- Inspect parts visually and with measuring tools to verify surface finish and tolerances
- Remove sharp edges, burrs, and other imperfections from a variety of materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, stainless)
- Follow detailed work instructions and prints to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Secondary Duties – Manual Machining (Approx. 20–30%):
6. Operate manual mills, lathes, and other conventional machine tools as required
7. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
8. Assist with setups and perform basic machining tasks to support shop needs
9. Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Deburring Expertise: Proficient in using hand tools such as files, burr knives, rotary tools, sandpaper, and deburring wheels to finish and clean machined parts.
- Attention to Detail: Strong visual inspection skills to identify surface imperfections, burrs, or sharp edges; able to meet tight tolerances and cosmetic standards.
- Manual Machining Knowledge: Basic to intermediate knowledge of operating manual mills, lathes, and drill presses; understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Measurement Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Shop Math: Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and conversions; understanding of tolerancing.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Ethic & Communication: Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow verbal and written instructions; comfortable communicating with team members and supervisors.EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
