Job Position: R & D Technician
Position Summary
R&D Technician, where you will play a vital role in assisting in the assembly and calibration of newly designed pressure transmitters and transducers requiring a greater degree of technical knowledge and a lesser degree of supervision. The industrial R & D technician must interface with The Manufacturing Manager and Engineering to assemble and calibrate pre-production proto-types; must possess an understanding of mechanical and electronic test equipment; must be able to function using strict production techniques. All projects given to the Industrial R & D Technician must be approved by the Manufacturing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Assembling and calibrating both newly designed and current pressure transducers/transmitters.
- Building both electronic and mechanical sub-assemblies.
- Verifying acceptability of product using proper calculations.
- Wiring and adding compensation resistors to transducers.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, procedures, calibration sheets and technical instructions
- Ability to complete tasks as directed on shop travelers at a level dictated by current methods and procedures
- Ability to perform specific solder tasks
- Ability to use “Hi-temp” solders
- Technical and theoretical knowledge of use of electromechanical test equipment
- Ability to perform electro-etch name plating
- Certification of J- STD are preferred.
- Knowledge and use of proper ESD techniques.
