Job Position: Electrical Engineer

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer is responsible analog and digital electrical design and development of both new and existing Industrial/Aerospace products to satisfy customer specification requirements; provides technical expertise and support to the Engineering staff when needed; provides manufacturing support to assembly personnel when needed.

Key Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop analog and digital electronic PC Board assemblies for pressure transducers and transmitters. Some designs will be subjected to 3rd party agency approvals for use in hazardous location applications.
  • Work directly with the Engineering staff to facilitate/implement use of new or modified PC Board assemblies into Industrial/Aerospace product designs
  • Generate and maintain control of PC Board Assembly drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs) using OrCAD, AutoCAD, MS Word, or ERP inventory control software.
  • Assist with the design and develop of electronic test/calibration equipment.
  • Generate engineering reports for technical recommendations, documentation of test results, and/or documentation of engineering/manufacturing procedures using MS Word and Excel

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, MSEE). One to Five years related experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Familiar with:

  • Commercial/military/aerospace specifications a plus.
  • FM/CSA/ATEX/IEC Hazardous Location approvals a plus.
  • Development of new products from design/prototype to production.
  • Manufacturing processes for the generation of PC Board assemblies.
  •  Bluetooth technologies a plus.
  • Must be experienced with analog and digital circuit design concepts.
  • cadence OrCAD Electronic Design Software experience a plus.
  • Soldering experience is a plus (hand soldering and PCB re-work).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

•10X to 30X microscope
•Micrometers and calipers – both digital and analog
•Dial Indicators
•Electrical measuring equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, DC power supplies).
•Pressure measuring equipment.
•Soldering irons.
•Office Equipment: personal computer, copier/printer, fax machine and telephone

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1.Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature
2.Ability to lift weight up to a maximum of 40 pounds
3.Ability to sit at a desk for approximately 5 hours per day
4.Ability to stand and/or walk for approximately 3 hours per day
5.Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and reach
6.Manual dexterity to manipulate and inspect small parts
7.Must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20
