Job Position: Regional Sales Manager- Instrumentation & Gauges – Texas
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the National Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager visits customer facilities, provides direct technical and application support, secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements and follows up on quotes to obtain orders. They support the manufacturer’s representatives through joint sales calls and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and grow new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers through in-person visits, telephone calls, virtual meetings, and trade show participation.
- Provide direct technical and application support to customers regarding products, systems, and engineered solutions.
- Identify customer requirements and secure opportunities to provide quotations.
- Follow up on quotations and proposals to obtain orders and maximize sales conversion.
- Support manufacturers’ representatives through joint sales calls, product training, technical assistance, and application support.
- Attend, coordinate, and manage trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Prepare and submit weekly activity and call reports detailing customer visits, sales opportunities, quotations, orders, and customer/vendor issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records within company systems and databases.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of three to five years of sales experience, ideally within a technical, industrial, manufacturing, instrumentation, automation, or engineering environment. Experience supporting technical products and engineered solutions is preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40–60% of the time by automobile and commercial airline.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
- Technical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and communicate basic electrical, mechanical, and process-related concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process diagrams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Experience using CRM and ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
